Cronos is a planet of robotic lifeforms living in peace, home to the legendary energy source Highvibid, said to grant eternal life. When the evil organization Gyandora, led by the universe-conquering Gades, invades to seize it, Rom Stoll — son of the late Master Kirai — inherits his father's sword Kenrou and takes up the fight to protect his world. Using Kenrou, Rom summons the giant robot Kenryū, and can further unite with the sword-guided Baikanfu to become one being. Alongside his sister Reina and a growing circle of allies, Rom's fight eventually draws together Cronos's fractured robotic communities into a unified front against Gyandora's full-scale invasion.
