Origin
Xabungle was originally built by the ruling Innocent class as civilian labor equipment, before being stolen by Jiron Amos and repurposed as a weapon in his personal vendetta against the outlaw who murdered his parents
Creative Direction
Director Yoshiyuki Tomino deliberately aimed for a lighter, more comedic tone with Xabungle immediately after completing the intensely dark and tragic Space Runaway Ideon
Unlike most Real Robots of its era, Xabungle wasn't built for war — it started life as a work machine. Its entire cast of "Walker Machines" are civilian tools first, weapons second, a detail that shapes the show's satirical take on typical mecha conventions
